Telecom Corridor, Texas, USA
Telecom Corridor is defined as a geographic area in Richardson, north Texas, USA. It encompasses one of the highest concentrations of leading-edge telecommunications and technology-based companies in the world. About 600 companies employ more than 80 000 people in total. 150 of those companies are telecommunications companies. The Richardson Chamber of commerce has formed an organization, The Telecom Corridor Technology Business Council (TBC), which is located to Richardson in the Dallas region. It is a non profit organization. The purpose is to identify joint issues, programs and activities that enhances the growth and development of the telecommunications and high tech companies of Telecom Corridor. The TBC has 124 members oranized in various work groups on recruitment, marketing, technological issues, laws and regulations, environment, competence development etc.

Located in a company village, Sophia Antipolis, with approximately 1000 high tech companies near Nice, France. There is about 60 telecommunications companies that employ around 8000 people. They are members of Telecom Valley, a not profit organization, formed in 1991. The network today encompasses international as well as small and middlesized companies, specialized on telecommunications. Local authorities and other interested parties are associated. They participate and market the region actively. Wireless Initiative, is an arena for mobile communication, with the Blekinge Institute of Technology as principal. The mission of WI.SE is to establish growth-oriented cooperative mobile services between university, business and society. This means that WI.SE will initiate and establish projects that can generate mobile services, or relevant skills that can quickly get a commercial value. The ideas can come from university students, researchers, industry or society and should be well defined from a growth perspective.
