Customer Testimonials
Session Customer Testimonials – or Mobile Jam as the interactive debate also is called - is one of the unique elements of Telecom City Catwalk.
At Moble Jam customers using mobile services in their business meets operators and providers of services in an intensive and open discussion with a focus on utility and usability. The discussions are held in plenary and in smaller groups.
The session began with a look back over the past year. What has happened since last Catwalk 09? Has there been any progress?
Yes, said the participants and listed two examples:
• Iphone has taken a giant step into the market.
• Mobile broadband has received a substantial boost leading to mobility no longer means just means mobile phones, but also mobility by computer.
During session Customer Testimonials customers enters the scene and tells the audience how they use mobile services to make their operations more efficient. First up on stadge was Marten Bring from E.ON. He said that by implement a mobile system to control their processes they have managed to lower its service times and. - Using the system EPPSU we have a fairly short time replaced the 450 000 electricity meters and always had a good control on all aspects of the process. Previously, it could happen that the works carried out were not invoiced - sums up to perhaps 800 000 SEK in six months were not invoiced. It does not happen anymore. The conversion to a mobile business has also meant that E. ON currently has a mobile strategy. - Today we are analycing which tool a new employee needs: PC, mobile phone or PocketPC? We now also investigate what other affairs can be streamlined by using a mobile phone and those that will be left in the paper world.
Anders Pettersson, President of Swedbank's internet and mobile banking said that today Swedbank’s mobile bak has more customers that uses iPhone than Nokia. Together with Telenor, TeliaSonera and Bank-ID the bank is testing, as the first Swedish bank, ID on the mobile phone. Instead of security device, customers can use their mobile phones. I a longer perpective the credit card maybee will be replaced by the mobile phone.
Karin Sundkvist, CEO of HF Advice a real estate company, said that mobile work orders drastically streamlined both the service and billing. HF Advice do maintanence of elevators. - Customers can look online where we were and if we did what we said we should do. The paperless system has definitely streamlined our service.
Talk Show report
Technology trends!
Magnus Zetterberg - CTO, Telenor Sverige, Mats Wahlström, Manager Services, Business Unit Global Services, Ericsson and Magnus Forsbrand, Founder & CEO, Forsbrand Telecom took the stage to talk about what challenges the industry are facing and how to come around those obstacles. Magnus Forsbrand believe that the near future will bring more complexity and that it will be important to bring product values to light and guide/educate customers in how to use this new technique and services to be able to access these benefits. "Access" is a core issue, according to Magnus Zetterberg.
- Make sure everyone has good access and we will be able to solve everything else, he says. To be able to deliver broadband to everyone who asks for it is one of our main objectives for the future, he continues.
Mats Wahlström added yet another point of view to the discussion. He presented what importance a joint customer/vendor transformation program could have on cost efficiency, that in the end affect the company's ability to produce and offer products to the right price levels.
Talk Show report
Setting the Stage!
What is our mobile world like in 10 years? What are the main trends in the market?
Henrik Pålsson, Vice President & Head of Consumer Lab APAC, Ericsson provided a picture of the Internet and mobile telephony importance in developing countries. He argues that in these countries is not the mobility that is important – it’s being able to stay connected.
Shaun Thanki, Founder of Mobile Monday Norway, a community and knowledge arena for professionals working in the mobile industry presented a vision of how the mobile evolution until 2020 could look like.
Erik Kruse, Strategic Marketing Business Unit Multimedia, Ericsson presented "Life in 2020th From Vision to Reality". Erik Kruse compared the opportunities and habits that he had during his youth with his son. He said that ten years ago we were media consumumers. Toaday, and in the future we will be both media consumers and producers. Asia will probably be more dominant, and the key to success is knowing how to manage the media flow. Fixed and mobile high speed broadband is the foundation for new innovations and customer value is a key objective. The industry will move to standardardization which will give us general applications suitable for many devices.
The speakers' common conclusion is that it will be important to develop the right business models for these new products and services.
Grand opening
"You can not over estimate the importance of events like this, especially in economic crises like today".
All the main speakers at the opening ceremony of Telecom City Catwalk 09 event stressed the importance of Swedish export of ICT services and products to the U.S. as well as to the world. Gert Lundgren, chairman of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, said that there are both opportunities and difficulties in doing business in the United States. SACC-USA is one of the partners at this year's Catwalk event. ACC-USA is a voluntary network that helps companies from both countries to do business.
Anders Ahnlid, Director-General for Trade at the Sweden's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, pointed out that ICT is one of Sweden's most important export products.
- You can not over estimate the importance of events like this, especially in economic crises like today, he said. The Swedish exports and ICT goes mainly to the United States. Anders Anhnlid think that there are more to be done to strengthen the export of ICT. He also said that Sweden's export to the United States has declined slightly while the Swedish companies' investment in the U.S. increases.
